What is plane shape?

If a shape is flat and closed and has no thickness, then it is called plane shape.

Example:

i. Square:

 

Square has 4 sides, 4 corners and each side is equal in length.

ii. Rectangle:

Rectangle has 4 sides, 4 corners and its opposite sides are equal in length.

iii. Triangle:

Triangle has 3 sides, 3 corners and its all sides may be or may not be equal in length.  

iv. Circle:

Circle has no side, no corner but it has figure of a curved line.


What is Solid shape?

A shape which has tree dimensions: length, width and height is called a solid shape.

Example:

i. Cube:


A cube has 6 square faces and 12 edges and 8 corners.

ii. Cuboid:


A cuboid has 6 rectangular faces and 12 edges and 8 corners.

iii. Cone:


A cone has one flat face and a curved face.

iv. Cylinder:


A cylinder has two flat faces and one curved face and has no corners.

v. Sphere:


A sphere has no flat faces and corners, has only a curved face.
