Skip Counting

What is Skip Counting?

Skip counting is a method of counting forward by skipping some numbers in a number series. We add a fixed number with 0, also add the same fixed number with the previous addition result and this process goes forward until we stop the counting.

Suppose, the fixed number is 3.

And,

0 + 3 = 3.

3 + 3 = 6.

6 + 3 = 9.

………………..

So, the skip counting by 3 will be: 3, 6, 9, ………..

Now,

6 – 3 = 3.

9 – 6 = 3.

The difference between the two numbers is the same.

Skip Counting Table:

..

Facts:

From the skip counting table, we find that it’s a multiplication table also.

Example:

For Skip Counting by 2:

And for skip counting 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8…. will follow the same multiplication process.

Let’s Sing!

Skip counting is a process of fun,

Jump the same steps from the previous one.

It’s a pattern of Multiplication,

Learn Skip counting, learn multiplication, all done!
